1 – Root Chord 3 – Major Third (has four half steps above the root note) 5 – Perfect Fifth (has seven half steps above the root note) |
By applying the formula of 1 – 3 – 5, or Root – Major Third – Perfect Fifths, the three notes of the C Major Chord (Cmaj chord) are: C – E – G |
