Learn how to do Five Finger Exercise to improve the strength of your fingers. This is an excellent piano technique for beginners. You can also practice C major scale and all scales to improve your piano playing skills as well. Instructions for five fingers exercise: |
Right Hand: |
1. Place the five fingers of your right hand on C, D, E, F, and G on the keyboard, using your thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and the pinky, respectively. 2. Now, play C, D, E, F, and G using your right hand. 3. Once you right-hand pinky hits the last note (G), then play those notes backwards, i.e. use you ring finger to play F, and middle finger to play E, index finger to play D, and the thumb to play C |
Left Hand: |
1. Place the five fingers of your left hand on the C, D, E, F, and G on the keyboard, using your pinky, ring finger, middle finger, index finger, and thumb, respectively. 2. Now, play C, D, E, F, and G using your left hand. 3. Once you left-hand thumb hits the last note (G), then play those notes backwards, i.e. use you index finger to play F, and middle finger to play E, ring finger to play D, and the pinky to play C. Finally, practice playing the Right Hand: and the Left Hand: together using the fingerings instruction as described in the above. {Note: You can also try this five-finger exercise for D, E, F, G, and A; or for E, F, G, A, and B; and so on.] |
