Welcome to the Chords Section for Intermediate Students!
As you learned in the chords section for beginner students, chords are one of the basic building blocks of songs. In this section, you will learn a new type of triad, a three note chord, called the minor chord. Minor chords are similar to major chords with one exception, the third note of a minor chord is lowered a half step, and produces a sad or dark sound compared to the happy sound of the major chord. You will also be learning how minor chords make up the three secondary chords.
You will also be learning about four note chords called 7th chords which will give an added richness to your harmonies. They include the dominant 7th chords, major 7th chords, and minor 7th chords. Below is a list of the lessons in this section and a short description of what you'll be learning in each.
